Kitchen Knife Repair Service

I recently sent in my new Terayasu Fujiwara Denka gyuto to be thinned. These knives are often rather thick behind the edge and as such, they tend to wedge when cutting. Ryan did an outstanding job thinning and tuning up my Fujiwara! He communicated with me several times about his progress with the knife, and the overall process was very quick. I now have a gorgeous knife that has realized its full potential - it is razor sharp, thin behind the edge and it flies through products! I could not be happier! This is a knife my kids will fight over after I'm gone. I will definitely be sending more knives to District Cutlery and I hope to visit the shop the next time I'm in the DC area. Top notch work! Ryan was my first choice to grind and re-profile my Kurosaki AS Nakiri, which had a really bad grind. So glad he took the job, as the repaired edge is fabulous. It's like a new knife.

I had a pleasant experience with District Cutlery for my recent repair and sharpen. I had a quality kitchen knife that I'd purchased from a 3rd generation knife smith in Taiwan back in 1996. The blade had seen 25 years of daily use and was in need of sharpening so I sent it in Disctrict Cutlery, who appear to be very well-versed in working with this type of blade and Japanese steel. I was pleasantly surprised when the knife arrived back to me in the mail looking better than it has in years.
